What is the purpose of having an Annual Maintenance Inspection (AMI)?

The purpose of having an Annual Maintenance Inspection (AMI) is for determining whether or not your rental unit(s) are in a good state of repair, fit for habitation, have working Smoke Alarms, Carbon Monoxide Detection and comply with health, safety, housing and maintenance standards.


Whether you have or are managing one or more properties, Annual maintenance Inspections are worth the effort, time and money. Firstly, having AMI in place puts the owners and renters in better standing with their Insurance Companies. Secondly having an AMI in place prevents unexpected and costly repairs and undetected problems.
